The Wood Dale Public Library's Seed Library is a free program open to all interested gardeners. Our goal is increasing access to fresh, healthy food options through seed sharing, community, and education.

Membership in the Seed Library is based on the honor system. Each member can borrow seed packages at no charge; we simply ask that gardeners make an effort to save seeds and bring them back to the Library after their harvest.

We encourage all members to learn basic seed-saving techniques by reading the new member brochure and researching additional resources. Please choose seeds that are suitable for your garden and your skill level. Beginners may find tomatoes, peppers, beans, and peas to be the easiest first-year crops.

If you are unable to save your own seeds at the end of the growing season, please consider donating a packet or two of fresh, commercially grown, open-pollinated (non-hybrid, non-GMO) seeds to keep our Seed Library stocked for future gardeners.

I promise that I will not knowingly buy, grow or share GMO seeds or plants.

As a member of the Library's Seed Library, I promise to grow plants from these seeds and save seeds according to best practices to ensure that I return viable seeds that will produce plants true to the variety I label them to be.
