Can I bring books to the library?
The Wood Dale Public Library no longer accepts donations of books, audiovisual materials, or other items. Unfortunately, this is a result of repeated donations including moldy and bug-infested items.
Where else to donate books
Try any of these organizations to donate books and other materials. Please check their websites or contact them to confirm how to donate and what items are accepted.
- Bernie’s Book Bank – This local organization accepts new and gently used children’s books. A drop-off location is located at the Wood Dale Bank & Trust.
- Better World Books – Book drop boxes are located in the Chicagoland area, and materials are donated around the world.
- Goodwill – Drop off books at a local store.
- Salvation Army – Find a drop-off location or schedule a pickup.
- SCARCE - Located in Addison, SCARCE (School & Community Assistance for Recycling and Composting Education) accepts many other items in addition to books.
