Thank You for Your Support! The Wood Dale Public Library District would like to thank our community partners for their generous support of the following library activities and programs: The Wood Dale Lions Club for providing activity kits distributed to children visiting the library during National Library Week and attending our Connecting Communities grant activities. The Bensenville/Wood Dale Kiwanis Club for providing a free book to every child or teen who registers for a Wood Dale Public Library District library card. The Bensenville/Wood Dale Rotary Club for providing a free book to every child or teen who meets their reading goal during our winter and summer reading programs. Itasca Bank & Trust Co. for providing free community reading initiative books to residents participating in our Community Reading initiative programs. Itasca Bank & Trust Co. also sponsors the free coffee service enjoyed by our patrons Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wood Dale Library to Staff Wood Dale Jr. High Library! The Wood Dale Public Library will be staffing the Wood Dale Jr. High Library on Tuesday and Friday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to noon, during summer school. Library material from the Jr. High, and items from the Wood Dale Library, will be available for the students to check-out. Children can also participate in our summer reading program and redeem their reading sheets for cool prizes. Adult Summer Reading Program 2008 This summer we are going to try something new! In previous years you had to read ten books in order to receive a prize, this year we are going to change the rules. For those patrons who are unable to read ten books, we will be offering a second level prize for reading five books. Patrons comfortable with reading ten books will receive the first level prize. You will only be able to claim ONE of the prizes. The prerequisite is the same as previous years. The Wood Dale Library must either own the book or you must request it from another library. The program will begin as usual in June 1, 2008 and you must be registered for the program by August 15, 2008, and have your sheets turned in by September 6, 2008. Online Program Registration! Patrons of the Wood Dale Library can now search and register for programs online, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. To view an up-to-the-second program and activity schedule, simply click on Events/Programs then click on Calendar. The best part, no more waiting in line! The Wood Dale Library is committed to providing a variety of service options to its patrons, from direct staff assistance to online self-service. Registration for programs is important so that we may plan ahead for overflow parking at the park district, as well as arrange for a crossing guard to ensure patrons are safe while crossing the street. Feel free to stop by the library for a quick demo or for more information on these or any other library services, contact Jason Kedroski at 630-766-6762. |
