It is arguably the most famous highway in the world, known for being the preferred road of migration from the settled east and Midwest to the "promised land" of California. June 12 at 7 p.m. David Clark will present a slide show and discussion of the history of U.S. Highways, the background on why Route 66 became the country's best-known highway, and why it started in Chicago. We then take a "virtual tour" of 66 through eight states. Registration is required and refreshments will be served.
